As with a lot of our products, our reclaimed pine flooring originates from Central and Eastern Europe. It’s the perfect choice if you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind, sustainable and antique flooring option for your flat or home.

We first started dealing with pine and other softwoods way back in 1991, importing timber from Eastern Europe for some of the largest timber suppliers in the UK. Through decades of supplying softwood our knowledge of reclaimed pine is extensive. We only pick the best salvage. A lot of our products have been regularised and prepared for flooring, although we also sell original floorboards of which the surface has been untouched.

Our Reclaimed Pine Floorboards’ Provenance

Our reclaimed pine floorboards are recovered from old dwellings that are earmarked for demolition. These are generally village properties, but sometimes we acquire them from old townhouses as well. There are still many of these old properties in existence, waiting to be demolished.

Reclaimed pine flooring is a very environmentally friendly solution, as new life is given to something that’s been around for a while and has already served its purpose once. These boards range from the 17th – 19th century, meaning that they can be as old as 250 years. We care about the environment, which is why we manufacture products using recycled materials, but also ensure that our acquisition methods are eco-friendly.

So, if sustainability is something that you pay particular attention to, reclaimed wood (and especially reclaimed pine flooring) will be the perfect choice for you. We offer a number of different pine options with all different varying looks and patina and these reclaimed floorboards cannot be matched by new wood.

The Reclaimed Pine Flooring Refurbishing Process

Once we have the materials, our reclaimed boards are moved to a finishing mill. The first step is to check the reclaimed wood for metal – usually, they might contain nails and fixings, but it’s also possible to find pieces of shrapnel. The reclaimed floorboards are then sorted depending on how they can be used further on. This process starts by assessing what can be salvaged to maintain its original face. This means that the next step is to separate the boards and beams.
