Reclaimed Oak Flooring

Reclaimed Pine Flooring

Versailles Panels

Reclaimed floorboards have become increasingly popular in recent years due to the growing interest in sustainable and eco-friendly building practices. Not only are they an environmentally responsible choice, but they also add character and charm to any space.

Our History and Practice in Selling Reclaimed Floorboards

We supply a number of reclaimed floorboards, including Versailles panels and reclaimed parquet flooring. We started working with timber as early as in the 90s when we used to bring timber in from eastern Europe to some of the largest timber agents in the UK. After years of this, we noticed how much timber could be reclaimed from old barns, farm houses and other out buildings. These structures were no longer in use; however, the timber, including oak and pine, was as strong as ever and included the markings of its past and history.

Through decades of wear and use, our reclaimed wood floorboards have a patina and tone that cannot be recreated by new oak or pine. Thus, it provides an original look and feel that is unique. Some of our boards come from old beams, cladding or even original floorboards.

Each piece of oak or pine used by us is selected, prepared and readied for flooring to ensure the highest quality. This timber is checked, cleaned and fumigated to kill any nasty woodworms or other parasites. Afterwards, they are then taken off to be sliced and regularised for use, providing you with the finest reclaimed floorboards available in the market.

We now supply over 10 different types of reclaimed boards, including pine and oak. These boards have come from mainland Europe and are ready to be laid and for use. We supply all our boards untreated with any wax or finish, as there are better ways to do this. Once laid and on-site, all boards should be sanded and finished. Treatment can either be with a wax, oil, lacquer or water-based protector. We will assist you throughout the whole sales process and provide our expert knowledge to help  and supply you with the best finish and look possible.

Benefits of Reclaimed Floorboards

One of the most significant benefits of reclaimed floorboards is their sustainability. By using reclaimed wood, you are not only saving trees, but also preventing old building materials from ending up in a landfill. Additionally, reclaimed wood often has a unique character and patina that can’t be found in newly milled lumber. Another benefit of reclaimed floorboards is their durability. Many reclaimed floorboards are made from old-growth timber, which is denser and stronger than the younger trees used in modern construction. This means that reclaimed floorboards can often outlast their new counterparts.

Pine Reclaimed Floorboards

Pine is a softwood that is commonly used for flooring. Reclaimed pine floorboards can be found in a wide range of colours, from white creams and pale yellows to rich browns. One of the benefits of using reclaimed pine floorboards is that they often have a rustic and weathered appearance that is difficult to achieve with new timber. This makes them a great choice if you want to add character to your space.

Oak Reclaimed Floorboards

Oak is a hardwood that is known for its durability and strength. Reclaimed oak floorboards are often salvaged from old barns or factories, giving them a distinctive appearance that can’t be replicated with new oak. These boards can vary in colour, from light tan to deep brown, and can have a pronounced grain pattern.

One of the benefits of using reclaimed oak floorboards is their stability. Oak is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity than softwoods, like pine. This makes reclaimed oak floorboards a great choice for areas with high foot traffic or fluctuating moisture levels.
