Product Description
Reclaimed Orchard House Oak Flooring
Characterful Reclaimed Oak with a Soft, Natural Finish
Our Reclaimed Orchard House Oak Flooring combines the depth and character of aged European oak with a beautifully understated, natural finish. Soft, muted tones run through the boards, while knots, distinctive grain patterns and subtle variations in texture reveal the individual history of the reclaimed timber.
With its gently weathered appearance and restrained palette, Orchard House Oak has an easy, lived-in quality that works particularly well in period properties, country interiors and contemporary spaces where a softer, more natural oak floor is desired.
Authentic Reclaimed Oak
Each board has been carefully selected from reclaimed European oak, preserving the markings and irregularities acquired through age. Natural knots, tonal variation, grain movement and occasional imperfections remain visible throughout, ensuring that no two boards are exactly alike.
Rather than appearing overly distressed or heavily finished, Orchard House Oak retains a quieter character. Its pale, softly weathered tones allow the natural structure of the timber to remain at the forefront, creating a floor that feels established without overwhelming an interior.
A Soft, Weathered Palette
Orchard House Oak is characterised by its subtle variation of pale oak, muted beige and softly weathered grey-brown tones. Darker knots and occasional markings provide contrast, while the varied grain brings depth and movement across the floor.
Once laid, these differences combine to create a naturally varied surface with the relaxed character of an old oak floor. Its neutral colouring makes it particularly versatile, complementing natural stone, brick, plaster and both traditional and contemporary furnishings.
Natural Character and Texture
One of the defining qualities of reclaimed oak is the individuality of every board. Knots, small cracks, grain variations and traces of the timber's previous life are retained as part of the finished floor.
These characteristics are not defects but an integral part of reclaimed wood, giving Orchard House Oak an authenticity and richness that cannot be reproduced in uniformly manufactured flooring.
Due to the nature of reclaimed timber, boards will vary in colour, grain and character, and dead knots may be plugged where necessary.
Our engineered boards retain the appearance and character of reclaimed oak while offering enhanced dimensional stability, making them particularly suited to interiors subject to changes in temperature and humidity.
* For use with underfloor heating, engineered boards are recommended. Solid boards may be used, but are generally not advised.
Durable Reclaimed Oak Flooring
Oak has been used for flooring for centuries because of its inherent strength and longevity. Carefully reclaimed and prepared for its next life, Orchard House Oak offers a durable surface suitable for residential interiors and appropriate commercial environments.
With proper care, the floor will continue to develop its own patina over time, allowing the timber to age naturally as part of the interior.
Bespoke Options
Every interior has different proportions and requirements, so bespoke dimensions can be accommodated for selected projects. Wider boards are also available in widths of 30–40 cm, with bespoke sizing available upon request.
Samples are available to provide a closer look at the natural colour, grain, texture and variation of the timber before placing an order.
Reclaimed Oak for Traditional and Contemporary Interiors
The restrained character of Orchard House Oak makes it particularly adaptable. In a period property, its natural variation sits comfortably alongside original architectural details and aged materials; in a contemporary setting, the texture and warmth of the reclaimed timber provide a subtle counterpoint to cleaner lines and more minimal finishes.
The result is a timeless oak floor with the marks of age still present — individual, tactile and intended to become more beautiful with use.
